Day at the Museum
Next Monday, Aug. 3, Quincy Rotary meets at the Plumas County Museum in Quincy. Josh Huddleston, Pete Henchel and the museum executive director Paul Russell provide an overview on the museum's upcoming events. 
 
A&J's Bakery is catering. Amanda Curnow has her establishment up and running despite the tragic passing of her husband Jon. Lisa K. will assist Amanda.
Rotary at PDH with CHP
I am pretty sure I met the newest CHP Commander Marc Peachey when he first served this community as an officer a couple years back. I met him between Comberg and Quincy I think. It wasn't under favorable conditions. No hard feelings…
 
Marc has been a CHP for 28 years, moving first to Redwood City, up to Truckee, over to Quincy, down to Sacramento, and back to Quincy. He is the father of 4, with a house in Reno and Graeagle. He is into endurance sports, running marathons, mountain biking, and swimming.
 
He introduced Matt De La Montanya, the CHP PIO. Both addressed rumors about the new office being built on Lee Road. It is not a training facility, just a replacement office, enlarging the footprint to include a conference room, evidence room, and plenty of parking. All the technology will be updated as well.
 
Currently, 28 officers serve this area along with 3 supervisors and office help. 
 
Peachey's goal is "to be proactive to lower the number of collisions.” 
 
And by the way, PDH provided a lovely backdrop, along with a great meal, for Monday's meeting.

The new Quincy CHP Commander is Marc Peachey who spoke Monday.

The CHP's Public Information Officer Matt De La Montanya also is a PUSD Board member.

PDH served a delicious, nutrious lunch. Kory went back for seconds!
If You're not in the Parade, You Watch the Parade.
Quincy Rotary was definitely in Saturday's Fair Parade and made an impression. We had a dog, a mini clown car and a 4-year old! Oh and plenty of candy! Thank you Rotarians - Kory, Steve, Hersch, Kathleen, Karen K., Beth and honorary members Charlie and Kathy - for representing the club.

President JoDee brought a special guest, Charlie, to the QR entry.

We will miss this guy! Hope to see most of Quincy Rotary at David's Service on Saturday, Aug. 8 - 12 to 4 pm. Contact Darren to sign-up for setting-up or cleaning up. And bring a favorite potluck dish to share - Oh and bring your David stories to share too!
