Mark Monday Feb. 13 on the Calendar
The Annual 50/50 Raffleis upon us - Monday, February 13 @ 5:30 pm. Mark your calendars and SELL, SELL, SELL those tickets. Every Rotarian is responsible for selling 5 tickets at $50 each!
Pick up tickets at Quincy's Plumas Bank from Jeb H. and turn in your all ticket stubs and money to him too. The photo to the right of Johnny Mansell and family, proves even Rotarians can win big!
Invite all ticket holders to attend the evening event and enjoy cocktails and appetizers as you anxiously await your name to be called starting at 6:30 pm.
Maybe don't budget the $2,500 as income just yet, but do dream of what to spend the $$$ on!
A Warm Welcome to a New Rotarian
Leslie Edlund is our newest member in Quincy Rotary. She brings a passion for participating in the community. She works as the USFS Public Service Staff Officer. She also serves on the Governing Board of PUSD. The mother of two boys, Leslie mentioned that both her sons attended RYLA and the experience changed their lives. So much so that Leslie volunteered this past year for RYLA before she was committed to Rotary! That should give her bonus points! Perhaps she can be first in line for lunch, behind any guests that is. Welcome to Rotary Leslie!
Last Week's Speaker
David Windle gave an overview of the good work the Rotary Foundation accomplishes. He pointed out that Quincy Rotary is a generous club when it comes to giving to the Foundation and that the bulk of all donations helps fund the mission of the Foundation including the Rotary Youth Exchange, their youth anti-bullying campaign and Polio Plus. Andy Ryback, who belongs to the Foundation's Bequest Society thus leaving a future gift in his will, stated during the program, "The Rotary (Foundation) does a really good job of making that money work."
