Thomas Armstrong, Feather River College's Athletic Director, was Monday's guest speaker and he kept the crowd engaged. That's sports for you.
To be sure, FRC has some pretty good teams like Indoor Volleyball which are the California State Champions. Men's Soccer won All-Conference while Women's Soccer were second in Conference. This spring, Beach Volleyball is undefeated even while competing against 4-year colleges. Football is changing Conferences which will help with their success in the fall.
Armstrong said, "Quincy housing crunch puts a strain on developing a team." For example, Women's Basketball did not compete in the 2024/2025 season because team members could not find housing. Hopefully that will change. Thomas has resided in Quincy for 8 months but he seems to have a handle on the area.
QR Speech & Music Contestants Win Area
Bravo boys! QR's winners of our Speech and Music Contests, Matthew and Fisher, won the Area competition on Saturday, March 8 hosted by Portola Rotary.
Matt and Fisher move on to the 5190Districtcompetition on Saturday, May 3 at the 2025 District Conference in Fallon, Nevada. Good luck to both competitors.

The Area Foundation Dinner is set for Friday, April 18th, 6 pm at Moon's and costs $35 per person including beer and wine. The Area includes Rotary Clubs from Loyalton, Portola, Greenville and Quincy and the. This social event is the perfect opportunity to visit with our local Rotary Clubs and award those who have generously donated to the Rotary Foundation.
Member of the Week - Herschel
Quincy Rotary appreciates Herschel in so many ways. Last Monday, Herschel was absent. It took 4 Rotarians to do his job setting up for the meeting; and then they forgot the Flag! Seriously, 4 Rotarians couldn't do the job of 1 Herschel.
