Quincy Rotary
Bulletin
September 30, 2026
Welcome to another issue of our bulletin! Find out who our upcoming speaker is, where we rendezvoused for last week's meeting, and see our Members of the Week.
Roots Run Deep
This Monday, Oct. 5, meet hometown girl, Katie Reid Harris, the new Plumas/Sierra County Fair Director, appointed 20 days before the fair started in July. Not to worry, she handled it.

So a little brag here; Katie is my daughter. I knew she could do it. Find out why and how she tackles a endless, underfunded, difficult job. (Katie didn't use those adjectives about the job - her mother did).

See you back at the Mineral Building at noon on Monday for lunch.
Greenhorn Ranch Rendezvous
Greenhorn Ranch is the perfect setting for a group photo of our Quincy Rotary Family. Last Monday, the sun was warm and bright, you can see, as it set over the mountains, allowing us to linger outside with our beverages for a bit and then we wandered inside to hear some crazy tales from Zack Brown, the FRC Rodeo Coach. Rodeo is all about blood and guts, and good health insurance.

Zack came to promote this week's college rodeo at the fairground. Two performances, free to the public, are Friday and Saturday evenings at 5 pm. Family friendly and a ton of fun, the performances never disappoint.

Bull-rider Hunter Maxwell spoke briefly about his book, “Rank,” and many of us bought copies. Impressive that a 19-year-old college student, and a college and professional athlete, finds time to write a book. He's a humble young gentleman.

Richard S. and Lisa L. pose under that cool sign!

Catching the late afternoon sun on the deck at Greenhorn. Lovely!

Julie H., Lisa K., and Natalie and Zack Brown stand under that sign too!

Zack B. shared why you need good health insurance if your rodeo.

Rank is a “young” adult inspirational book.
