Welcome to a New Year - 2025-2026 - of Rotary. Quincy Rotary has a new President JoDee Johnson, the District has a new governor Larry Harvey who visited Monday with a new Area Executive Governor Randy House who also visited. The new RI slogan is Unite for Good and the slogan for the District is Make Dreams Come True. Quincy Rotary are you ready to Unite and Dream? Let's make the most of this New Year!
Monday, Monday
Larry Harvey is the District 5190 Governor for 2025-2026. The DG met with the Quincy Rotary Board on Monday, listening intently and suggesting new ideas such as readjusting our terms of membership or hosting socials while raising money for PolioPlus. The Executive Area Governor Randy House also visited Monday. Both Govs joined us for lunch, where they spoke at President JoDee's actual first meeting and then joined Quincy Rotarians as they made their way to the Plumas-Sierra County Fair to watch American Valley 4-H kids present their animal projects - like the steer that Larry and Randy are flanking! Monday proved to be a busy day for Rotary.

Honors
At Monday's meeting, DG Larry bestowed honors to 2 special Rotarians chosen by the President. These two club members go above and beyond your typical member which, after listening to the applause, we all were in agreement. The Quiet Rotarian went to Club Secretary Mike Summerfield who selflessly records all meetings, tallies the club attendance, and oversees club membership stats. The Club could not thrive without him. And Karen Kleven received The Dream Maker because she is always dreaming up big schemes - like replacing Quincy's nasty, old trash cans - to make a better community. We thank them both for their Service above Self.

Community Supper
Quincy Rotary served 120+ guests at Wednesday's Community Supper. Zoe, with Lisa's help, menu planned, grocery shopped and prepared a delicious Chicken Caesar Pasta Salad with toasted french bread and refreshing slices of watermelon. Thank you also to the prep team, servers and clean-up crew: Bill and Angela (Community Supper Queen) Elliott, Jim and Gloria Boland, Darren, John S., Michael G., Pete, Andy, Karen, JoDee and me, Beth - also any club member who came after the photo was taken!
