Welcome to another issue of our weekly bulletin! Find out who our speaker was on Monday, who is leaving us, and who our next speaker will be.
What Did You Say?
Audiologist Kristen Dolan spoke to a perfect demographic - Quincy Rotary - last Monday. She heads Plumas Hearing Center - the leading provider of hearing healthcare services in Plumas County for the last 22 years. She also has an office in Truckee. Kristen covered all the basics about hearing loss, and it seems that any of us shooting guns are at a high risk of losing hearing. Hearing loss increases the likelihood of dementia, perhaps due to isolation. So take down this number - 1-530-283-9980 - and get your hearing checked!
Kristen Dolan was so informative!

So Long Soon...
It's a bit premature to say goodbye just yet to longtime Quincy Rotarians Karen and Dwight Pierson. Their scheduled move is May 19 when they will load two trucks and drive cross-country to Frederick, Maryland. They are becoming fulltime nanny-grands to 3 grandsons - one 4-year old and twin 1-year-olds.
These two are a team; they even dress alike. Their teamwork in Quincy Rotary will be hard to fill. Their roles in the club have been numerous, Dwight a past president, Karen, youth services and public image, to name a few. Dwight instigated Quincy Elementary's Rotary Closet for kids who need warm coats, boots, and sundries. Karen keeps us singing each meeting.
The good news is, we all have a place to stay an hour out of Washington, D.C. with pickleball courts, swimming pools, a plethora of restaurants for every tastebud, comfy beds, and those 3 boys. Book your flight soon!
Next Monday's Speaker
Next Monday, Rotarians will enjoy the program from Jenna Holland, the Public Programs Manager at the The Sierra Valley Preserve + Nature Center which has recently opened to the public. There are an array of inviting programs planned in the coming months, so get on board and bring your calendars.
