Next Monday, August 29, plan to attend the Rotary Social at Quincy's Drunk Brush slated for 5:30 pm. Beer and wine can be purchased as well as soft drinks. Back Door Catering is providing yummy appetizers. Bring spouses and friends who might be interested in Rotary. Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Let's thank Andy Ryback and David Little who've been roped into being "Wranglers" at REGL - the Rotary 8th Grade Leadership program at Grizzly Creek Ranch in September! They are giving up 2 of their weekends to be camp counselors. We hope to see some photos of their escapades at a future meeting.
Last Week's Speaker:
Seamus Gallagher, son of Rotarian Tim and his wife Terry, spoke Monday about working remotely as a concept artist for a company based on the east coast. He works remotely at his Plumas County home 100% of the time, rarely traveling to the company's headquarters. Seamus emphasized that a community needs to invest in a strong infrastructure like Internet connectivity and restaurants if it wants to attract younger remote workers. The benefits include higher incomes which are dispersed locally. One question asked was what does our community have to market to a younger demographic. Seamus remarked that based on certain interests, our area offers boundless recreation. He also showed slides of his artistic creations. As a concept artist, he develops the visuals which generate ideas for creatures and landscapes to be used in visual mediums.
