Quincy Rotary
Bulletin
August 21, 2026
Welcome to another issue of our bulletin! Find out who our speakers were last Monday, who are speakers are this Monday, and who our new caterer is.
End of Life Journey
Two more caring and compassionate people would be hard to find than Debbie Anderson, Hospice Volunteer and Board member, along with Susan Delano, Hospice Executive Director, who spoke at last Monday's meeting. They represented Plumas Hospice, a volunteer, non-medical service, free to the Plumas community, offering end-of-life care.

Plumas Hospice visits homes in Greenville, Taylorsville, Quincy, Graeagle, Portola and the surrounding areas. Twenty-eight volunteers have been trained to work closely with patients. Also, PDH's Skilled Nursing Facility provides 4 beds to Hospice patients.

Plumas Hospice can provide:
  • Respite care for family and caregivers
  • Facilitation of communication with the medical    world
  • Coordination with Quincy Home Health
  • Education on the dying process
  • Assistance with paperwork & resources
  • Assistance with medical equipment & supplies
Career Tech Education = Work
At this Monday's meeting, Aug. 24 at the Mineral Building, Lisa K., with Rachel Molsee (PUSD), Taletha Washburn (Plumas Charter), and Gabe Miller (FRC) update us about the Plumas County Career & Technical Education Program.
New Rotary Caterer
Meet Amanda Curnow of A&J's Bakery, seen in the photo with JoDee and Lisa K., who will be catering lunch for Quincy Rotary most of the year. Tragically, Amanda lost her husband, business partner, and former Quincy Rotarian, Jon, recently. She is raising 5 children, and keeping her small business operating - no small task.

Make a point to introduce yourself to Amanda at a meeting. And stop off at A&J's Bakery, 1690 East Main Street in Quincy for donuts, bagels and more - made fresh daily.
