In a Capsule: PDH Foundation and so much more...
Sierra Blanton was the Quincy Rotary speaker on Monday. She covered multiple topics. One topic was about the Plumas Sun which is marking its second anniversary. Sierra is a founding member of the news source. Her "real" job is as the Executive Director of Plumas District Hospital Foundation as well as part of the Public Relations team at PDH. Oh, there is so much going on at the hospital. You had to be at the meeting to appreciate how lucky Plumas County is to have a health care system that is so forward- thinking. There is the new skilled nursing facility. And a regular radio show/streaming podcast called Vital Voices (91.9 FM). Also there is a new Alternative Birthing Center about to be launched. Darren jumped up to explain the potential impacts of Congress's proposed slashes in medicaid. That meeting was an indicator of the importance of attending the Quincy Rotary weekly lunch meetings. We all learn so much about what is happening locally.
In Memory Of
This past Tuesday, June 25, 2025, saw the passing of a former Quincy Rotarian, and past president, Gary McGowan seen here with Plumas District Attorney David Hollister. Gary served as Deputy District Attorney in Plumas County for 20 years, joining the office in 1994 before retiring in 2014. David Hollister remarked at the time that Gary made an impact on the lives of many. After retirement, Gary returned to his hometown of Chico, California.

Next Monday evening, June 30, Rotarians bid farewell to President Jeb and welcome into office President JoDee.
