Candidates' Forum
Hear the platforms of 2 Plumas County Supervisor candidates on Monday, January 29 at Quincy Rotary. The meeting will host a Question & AnswerCandidates' Forum featuring supervisor candidates Greg Hagwood and Mimi Hall.
The Candidates' Forum has been altered slightly and looks like this:
Limit Rotary business to a minimum so start the program at 12:40 pm.
12:40 - 1 pm - Each candidate will have 10 minutes to share their experience and why they should be elected. (20 minutes)
1-1:20 pm - Questions: (15 minutes)
1:20 -1:30 pm - Other questions at the meeting
1:30 pm - meeting ends
Candidates stay after for individual conversations
Please send your questions to Karen Kleven at karenkleven@gmail.com by this Saturday. She then can compile them into categories and share with the candidates before Monday.

Oakland Camp Marks 100 Year Anniversary
Just outside Quincy off Chandler Road, OaklandFeather River Camp has offered an outdoor experience to families, children, and adults since 1924! The history of the place is fascinating as Quincy Rotary learned at last Monday's meeting. Executive Director Mark Olson and Camp Director Kristi Doebler shared stories and photos in their presentation.
For instance, Mark showed an article fromTheFeather River Bulletin on July 3, 1924, which reported, "Oakland's Municipal Recreation Camp, in American Valley about four miles from Quincy, was formally opened Saturday with the arrival of some fifty excursionists from the city on the bay."
Another story featured Quincy Rotary taken from Plumas Independent on July 21, 1932 - seems that an "excursionist" offered a series of lectures sponsored by "business Rotarians of Quincy" on salesmanship and business etiquette. Apparently is was "quite well attended."
Look for a future Rotary meeting to be held at Oakland Feather River Camp - maybe with a campfire and s'mores!
