New Rotarian, Kevin Cook - owner/operater of The Kinship Ranch - received his Red Badge last week from Darren and David L. Kevin spoke to Rotary this March as part of the Wedding Venue Presentation and really enjoyed the meeting. As luck would have it, he ran into David L. at the store who invited him to another meeting. Kevin was hooked! Welcome to Rotary Kevin!
Don't Cry for Me Argentina!
I know, the reference to Argentina is lame, but...thank you Argentina for offering a spot for our first-in-a-long-time Rotary Exchange Student Kaleb Dupras (with his mom Jill in the lower photo). Recently, when Australia bailed out of hosting Kaleb, Argentina reached out with a home from June 15 to Aug. 15. Our Rotary in turn will host a student from Argentina in the fall. Kaleb is excited and ready for his adventure "down-under" beginning in just a few days. Darren presented Kaleb with a Quincy Rotary banner to take to the local club in Argentina, and thanked David L. for never giving up on the exchange.
Last Week's Speakers Become Members
Quincy Rotary Club received and approved the first Corporate Membership application from Adam and Tara Mazzella from Grocery Outlet. Adam and Tara were Monday's speakers, and they enjoyed the meeting so much that they joined! Two new memberships - Kevin and Grocery Outlet - derived from those who were invited to speak to the club. And each had compelling stories. These folks give back as much as possible to our community with gratitude for landing in Plumas County.
