Last Week's Speakers
Taletha Washburn, Executive Director for the past 10 years at Plumas Charter School, provided an overview on charter schools and the importance of providing that educational choice to students and families. She also updated us on the progress of the new site of Plumas Charter, next door to Pioneer Park and gave us some background on that build which has been several years in the making. The school, K-12 grades, is due to open next week with a Ribbon Cutting ceremony and Open house, Wednesday, August 17 from 5 to 7 pm. The public is welcome.
Help Wanted
Fred Surber, stepping down from directing Rotary's Highway Clean-up Project, deserves a handshake! And some Help! Wanted: a couple of Rotarians who, with training from Fred, can organize and lead the clean-up crew up and down Hwy. 70. Thanks Fred for you years of service.
