The Newest Quincy Rotarians
JoDee awarded the Rotary Red Badge to Rich DuVarney, PUSD County Appointed Administrator and Andrea Ceresola-White, PCOE Superintendent as well as Student Services Director. Rich, I do believe, was a Rotarian when he worked in education in Red Bluff. Andrea is new to Rotary.
Give Rich and Andrea a warm Welcome and help guide them through the process of becoming a Rotarian. It's all about Engagement. Service, Networking, Education, and Commitment.
A Summer Day at the Museum
Quincy Rotary gathered and stayed cool during lunch under the apple tree at the Plumas County Museum’s historic 1878 Variel Home. Amanda from A&J's Bakery catered the affair which included the hit Donut-Hole-K-Bobs!
Green tablecloths and bouquets of summer flowers graced the setting…so refined! Museum board members Pete Henchel, Lee Ann Schramel, and Josh Huddleston amused us with stories of the museum’s legacy and its bold plans for the future, including the upcoming fundraiser “Spirits of Plumas” on October 24.
The Plumas County Museum is a treasure for this community and deserves support from all of us citizens. Donate to the Association (530-283-6320) and/or attend future events. It takes a village to make a village thrive!
Pete Henschel was in his element telling tales of the history of The Plumas County Museum.
Lee Ann Schramel baked delicious lemon tarts and zucchini bread. She offered refreshing lemon water and iced tea. And I'm pretty sure she gathered colorful flowers from her garden for the tables.
Josh Huddlestone gave details about the “Spirits of Plumas” (Oct. 24) - a little history mixed with a little entertainment and delicious food.
The museum's apple tree provided plenty of shade on a hot, summer's day.
Meet at the Ag Barn on Monday
See you next week, Aug. 10, at Feather River College's Ag (air conditioned) Classroom. Plenty of parking around the area because school isn't in session. Rotarian Rick L. will update us about his first hand experience as a cattle rancher with Regenerative Ag. Last year, Rick's talk was incredibly informative.
Chef Sean Conry, FRC's Nutrition and Culinary Arts Instructor, will serve us lunch.
If after Rick's program, you would like a tour of the Ag facilities, Rick will take you around.
A Good-Bye to David
This photo of David W. reminds me that David was always helping be it bbq'ing, cleaning up the highway, serving dinners on holidays to the house-bound, and raising money for the Rotary Foundation. We bid David a thank you and a farwell on Sat., Aug. 8 12 pm at the fairgrounds. See you there.
