Fall 2026 - Introducing most of Quincy Rotary along with Kurt and Polly Raffetto.

Quincy Rotary Gets a Fall Pep Talk

Rotary District 5190 2026/27 Governor, Kurt Raffetto and his wife, Polly, made a fall visit to Quincy Rotary, bringing a pep talk, encouragement, and a couple of well-deserved awards (more on the awards to follow). DG Kurt also gave Quincy Rotary Newbies, Andrea White and Rich DuVarney their Blue Badges.

Kurt offered up some Rotary statistics on trends for club membership…Rotary loses as many members as we gain each year. Currently we have 1.2 million Rotarians roaming the world. The biggest increase in membership is in India. The 125 Year Anniversary of Rotary is 2030. The goal is to increase membership to 1.25 members in the next four years.

From Red to Blue Badges making Rotary membership official for Andrea and Rich!

Polly Raffetto shares a poster promoting “Off We Go Into the Wild Blue Yonder” - the 2027 District Conference, May 14-16, in Incline Village, with ½ priced rooms and a Polio Fundraising Bike Ride to Sand Harbor and back.

JoDee's Words for Rick's “Quiet Rotarian” Award:

I would like to nominate Rick Foster for the Quiet Rotarian Award, although anyone who knows Rick knows that “quiet” might be the last word we would use to describe him!

Rick is truly the definition of a Rotarian who embodies Service Above Self. Whenever there is a need, a project, or simply a call for help, Rick is always there to answer. He never hesitates to roll up his sleeves, step in, and do whatever it takes to support our club and our community.

While Rick may not be the quietest person in the room (and we wouldn't have it any other way!), his larger-than-life personality, commitment, and enthusiasm are part of what makes him such a valued member of our Rotary family.

What makes Rick deserving of this recognition isn't just his willingness to help, but the fact that he does so without expecting anything in return. He shows up, gets involved, and makes a difference simply because that's who he is.

Rick may not serve quietly, but he serves wholeheartedly. And that is exactly why I believe he deserves the Quiet Rotarian Award!

JoDee's Words for Lisa's “High-Flyer” Award

It is with tremendous appreciation and admiration that I nominate Lisa Kelly for the High-Flyer Award. Lisa is truly the heartbeat behind so much of what makes our Rotary Club special. She works tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure our programs are engaging, meaningful, and exciting. Her attention to detail is remarkable, and she goes above and beyond to make sure every individual feels welcomed, valued, and that their needs are met.

What makes Lisa exceptional is not just what she does, but how she does it. No matter the challenge, the question, or the time of day, Lisa is always just a phone call or text away. Whether it's brainstorming an idea, working through a problem, or managing the countless little details that make everything come together, she never hesitates to lend a hand.

On a personal note, Lisa is my right hand, my sounding board, and someone I know I can always count on. Her dedication makes my role as Club President easier, but more importantly, her contributions make our entire club stronger.

Lisa doesn't seek the spotlight or recognition. She simply sees what needs to be done and makes it happen, often going far beyond what anyone would ever ask of her.

We are incredibly blessed to have Lisa as part of our Rotary family. Her generosity, dedication, and unwavering commitment to Service Above Self embody everything the High-Flyer Award represents.

Lisa doesn't just go above and beyond—she sets the standard for what going above and beyond looks like. I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this recognition.
