Welcome to another issue of our weekly bulletin! Find out who our upcoming speakers are, what we covered during the last weekly meeting, and learn more about our Member of the Week.
Mark your calendars
Happy Marin Luther King's Birthday Monday January 16. Please make your own plans to celebrate, and you will also have to find your own lunch as Rotary does not meet that day!!
Announcements
After our calendars are clear of all those holidays, they will fill up with interesting speakers and events including the 50/50 raffle reveal (2/13), the Speech Contest (2/27) and the Music Contest ( 3/13).
Last week's speaker
Tristan McMichael presented his ideas and the progress made to build an Outdoor Theater Stage through the Plumas Performing Arts. This would include a stage built in Dame Shirley Plaza for outdoor concerts, theatrical events, and other community events. Current fund raising efforts include the selection of an Honorary Mayor where each vote cast equals $1. Current candidates include: Adam Mazzella, Mari Erin Roth, Red Powell, Valerie Flanigan, and Matt Kitchens. Discussions about the location of the new courthouse  have stalled the project for now.
Our club made a $300 donation to this project.
Dwight Pierson, a member of the New Quincy Courthouse Committee, explained what was being discussed the entities involved in making the decision.
