Connected Communities
Kyle Stone and Nova Collinson from Sierra ButtesTrail Stewardship were Quincy Rotary's speakers Monday. The goal of SBTS is to create ConnectedCommunities through building recreational trails for mountain biking, ORV's, hiking. They brought maps of the multi-use trails SBTS has helped build and maintain - trails planned to connect Plumas County, Sierra County, Lassen County and Reno.
Recently, SBTS completed a trail over Mt. Hough connecting Quincy to Taylorsville. To commemorate this new extension, SBTS is throwing an outdoor festival - 9/19 - 9/22 - located at the Plumas-Sierra County Fairgrounds. Join in the trail building, Poker Run/Ride, locally led mountain adventures, family and late-night roller-skating sessions, food trucks, a beverage garden and live music all weekend on the main stage.
Quincy Rotary can help by spreading the word about the event and helping out at the event.

Connected Chambers
Mark Picotich - formerly from the Lost Sierra Chamber - returned to QR with an update on the efforts for a Plumas County Chamber Coalition. Local Chambers are combining forces to address economic development, business resiliency, and affordable homeowners' insurance. Right here in Quincy, efforts are in place to offer business assistance, so stores remain open on Sunday. Oh, to find a cup of coffee somewhere on Sunday in Quincy!
Mark also said that the Quincy Chamber will be moving to the old Quincy Drug Store space where the Dixie Fire lawyers have been - right on Main Street!
Jeb & the Missing Bell
What's the big deal about your Bell going AWOL, Jeb? It appears in these photos that the "missing" Bell was ubiquitous at Saturday's Starry Nights.
The Bell obviously was hiding in plain sight.
At one point, the Bell was begging for your attention - but no - you looked up while the bell was down. Perhaps one of the Rotarians in these photos know the Bell's whereabouts? Hmmm...
