The farm sells produce daily, based on the Honor System. Buyers leave payment for the fresh produce kept in the farm's Refrigerator.

Cancelled Field Trip
Rotary was going on a field trip to Rugged RootsFarm - until it was too hot, and maybe going to rain, and there was massive road work in front of the farm! So we pivoted and met at the Mineral Building. The gals from the farm - Jessie Mazur, Executive Director of the Lost Sierra Food Project/Rugged Roots Farm; Cait McCloskey, Coordinator of the Feather River Farm to School Collective; and Kari O'Reilly, Farm Educator, came to us instead. They spoke about their beautiful place where community is welcome. One mentioned that agricultural spaces are usually built for production, not people. Later, I moseyed over to the farm to take some photos - and what a beautiful place it was!
The farm hosts a Tuesday Evening Farm Stand, hands-on educational experiences for all ages, a kids' summer camp, job training for high school and college students, a Pumpkin Patch Event and most importantly, food access to all.
A Vote for the African Water Well Project
The Rotary Board voted unanimously to continue contributing $1000 to the African Water Well project headed by Dr. Cathy Fitzgerald, which we have supported for the last 20+ years. This meaningful international project satisfies all 7 areas of focus of Rotary International. Those areas are promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, sanitation, and hygiene, saving mothers and children, supporting education, growing local economies, and protecting the environment.

Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the devastating fires of the island of Maui. As people of action, we can take immediate action. As we come together to recover and rebuild, we need to support each other. We need to Create Hope for Maui. Through our Rotary District 5000 Foundation, a relief fund has been established.
