Welcome to another issue of our weekly bulletin! Find out about the District Conference, The Annual Golf Tournament, Monday's Speaker and our Members of the Week.
Congoers @ District 5190 Conference
Two weekends ago, these Congoers - AG Andy Ryback, AG Elect Dave Little, and Darren Beatty attended the annual District 5190 Conference in South Lake Tahoe. The event sparked laughter and learning. Our speech and music contestants, Savannah Little and Fisher Clark, both did an outstanding job representing Area 2 with their talents!
"Fore!" - Weathering the 20th Annual Golf Tournament
Despite bad weather, Saturday, May 6's "Fore-cast" did not dissuade the 128 golfers who played in the 20th Annual Quincy Rotary Golf Tournament at Plumas Pines Golf Course. Seen in the photo are this year's winning foursome - the defending 2022 Champions Johnny Mansell, Jon Dvorak, Marcus Tracy and Eddie Mutch — 13-under par score of 59 albeit mulligan-enhanced. The players each received a $50 gift certificate and a round of golf for four redeemable at Plumas Pines — a prize package worth over $1,800.
There are rumors that next year's golf tournament will be held later in May to avoid the rain and snow "Fore-Cast." Stay Tuned.
This Monday's speaker, Jeff Green of the USFS, will discuss the iconic Argentine Lookout. Scenically perched on a rocky peak on Grizzly Ridge, on the Mt. Hough Ranger District of the Plumas National Forest, Argentine Rock Lookout was in active service from 1936 until 1980. There is an effort underway to restore the lookout and see it rise again!
