Building a Stronger Community Together
Josh Huddleston and Susan Bryner, board members of the Almanor Foundation, joined Quincy Rotary on Monday to explain their relatively new organization. As a founding member and current chair, Susan laid the groundwork of what is now a million-dollar enterprise. The foundation was established in 2019 during the Camp Fire. Susan said, "The people of the Lake Almanor Basin stepped up to assist with raising over $35,000, establishing an evacuation center, a system for vetting needs and distributing funds. It was evident that our community needed to put resources and systems in place because stuff happens."
Currently working with a $350,000 operating budget, the entity is able to administer a number of projects like the Plumas Sun. The online news service focuses on the reporting while the Almanor Foundation is the "business office."
If there is a need in the county that the foundation can help, they are there. The Foundation helps groups pool their resources. Also, they have broadened their geography to cover Plumas County.

Every tee on every hole at the annual Quincy Rotary Golf Tournament, Saturday, May 3, displays board of Tee Signs bought for $50 where businesses and individuals can promote their cause. Cheap advertising and crucial for the success of QR's major fundraiser. Sell, Sell, Sell by the deadline, April 29th.
Area Foundation Dinner
Join other local Rotary Clubs for the annual Area Foundation Dinner, held on Friday, April 18, at Moon's in Quincy. Please sign-up in the next few weeks, and pre-pay the $35 per person cost which is not part of the regular meal fee. Spouses are welcome.
