The speaker this coming Monday is Seamus Gallagher who will discuss working remotely as a concept artist. He creates visual concepts of characters and creatures for video games. While he lives in Quincy, Seamus manages to work via the Internet elsewhere without leaving his home studio.

Also last week's Help Wanted position(s) for the Rotary Highway Clean-up project were filled. Karen Pierson and Kory Felker were hired! They said to expect a Highway Clean-up day this fall!
Last Week's Speakers
Karen Kleven provided an overview on the Feather River Tourism Association's work to improve and develop the tourism economy of Quincy, Bucks Lake, Indian Valley, Lake Almanor Basin and the Feather River Canyon. In addition, Karen, along with John Sheehan and guest speaker, John Kolb, presented a draft Action Summary from the Recreation Economy for Rural Communities Workshop attended by over 80 Plumas County residents. Their group focused on recreation access, tribal collaboration, downtown Quincy revitalization, business and economic development, and housing. Both local entities have a common goal of leveraging Plumas County's natural amenities and creating a thriving community that supports local livelihoods, quality of life and recreational opportunities.

Times article on the local Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship and their creation of Connected Communities with 300 miles of trails linking 15 rural mountain towns.
