On the Calendar Next Week
Rotarians have a busy calendar next week. Monday brings the West End Theatre cast of Fiddler on the Roof to lunch for a bit of song, dance and promotion. Join FRC and dramaworks/The West End Theatre as they bring this timeless tale to Quincy.
Just before Monday's noon meeting at 11:30 am in the Mineral Building, all are welcome to participate in a Fireside chat with Mark Leonhardt - a future Quincy Rotarian.
Then on Wednesday, May 1 join the Rotary Social atRich Bar Taproom (on the corner by Safeway) in the evening starting at 5 or 5:30 pm. Drinks are on you but food is provided.
Speech is Power
Quincy Rotary's Speech Contest Winner - Matt Gibson (Leonhardt) won the Area Speech Contest held in Loyalton on Saturday, April 20. Now Matt moves onto the Rotary Multi District Speech Contest at its 2024 Conference on Saturday, May 18 at Reno's Grand Sierra. A set of unfortunate circumstances meant we did not have a Quincy Rotary Music Contestant at the Area Contest.
We know Matt will make us proud! He already has.
Take more Chances, Dance more Dances
Wendy Yates - Monday's speaker - has brought dance to Main Street Quincy. She has collaborated with movement instructors to open Rhythm & GraceDance Studio in the former P.G. & E. building. Wendy focuses her talents teaching little ones (pre-school to 5th grade and up) ballet; the other teachers offer yoga, Pilates, and Dance Jam.
Wendy promises that the future is bright with options for movement classes. Try out a dance, yoga or Pilates class - there is no registration fee for adults so drop-in for $15 a class or buy a punch card with 10 classes for $125.
