And The Winner is...
Who won Quincy Rotary's 50/50 Drawing on Monday night? Drum roll please...David Windle accepted, for Cal-Sierra Title, Chester! Frank Carey won 2nd Place followed by Karen Stockton (does Richard S. get some of that money?), Lindsay Davis, Brenda Rocucci, The Leonhardt Family Scholarship Fund and Red Powell. Congrats to All!
Ticket holders packed the Mineral Building. The crowd enjoyed an array of appetizers from Back Door Catering and sipped cocktails from the bar. The annual event has become quite a friend-raiser as well as a fundraiser. The 50/50 Drawing helps cover the costs of all services that Quincy Rotary sponsors. Quincy Rotary builds pavilions in parks, benches on mountain trails, and paints stalls at the fairgrounds. We sponsor water wells in Africa and mobile health clinics in Ukraine. Another focus is on youth services like speech and music contests, leadership camps, international exchanges, and dictionary giveaways. Our elementary school closets provide jackets, boots, gloves, and clothing to students. Money raised from the 50/50 Drawing directly supports these Quincy Rotary services.

Next Week's Speaker
Next week's speaker is Michaella Trammel from Dixie Fire Canopy. Michaella will tell us how the Dixie Fire Canopy Project, a non-profit based in Plumas County, is gearing up to plant trees and shrubs in Dixie Fire burn scar areas, with more than 120 people signing up to have trees planted. They will be planting in multiple phases over the next three to five years, with planting in the spring, fall and early summer.
