This week's meeting was a Club Assembly for members to focus on the Club Health Survey done in July. 17 people participated.
Club Members were broken off into groups to review the data, identify problem areas and identify potential solutions then share with the club. Results:
Club Experience
Different venue is needed
Being respectful is important
Screen is important / AV helps members follow the meeting
Meetings are better in person than online and the bulletin helps members who are unable to attend
Suggest interacting with other clubs in an informal way and participating in online training
Service and Social Events
We need a standard social meeting to recruit new members outsie of the lunch meeting. For example, we could do a social meeting at CVI at 5:30 on the first Thursday of the month and offer appetizers, talk about service projects and social events.
Image and branding - need to add Rotary signs when we do service projects
Target/attract mid managers. Currently we have 34 members of which 50% attend. We need more members who will be active.
Get involved with Interact and their projects
Put speaker list in the Record Courier / PSA for meeting time
Possible suggestion: 2 lunch meetings per month, 1 evening meeting and 1 service project.
Members
Strengths - Increase in Membership and Exit Interview process for members leaving the club Weaknesses -Diversity (Age and Occupation) Potential Solutions:
Need a membership committee so that one person isn't doing all the work
Need a greeter (Sargeant at Arms) to make sure new members and guests feel welcome
Suggest a buddy system for members to check on their buddy each week before the meeting and share, if needed, why the buddy was not able to attend the meeting. Or, need an email to ask if members are coming and a phone call follow up to those who don't attend.
Need to see who opens emails generated from Club Runner and update emails that are not accurate.
Potential new members and new members need a buddy/mentor at meetings and assignment to a committee when they join.
Need to reach out to those not attending - including corporate membership.
Need to reach out to corporations for members and tours of facilities (Minden Distillery, Starbucks Roastery, AKG, UPS, North Sales, PCS, etc.
Consider signage at the meetings for corporate members company logos
Get a list from the Chamber of businesses for possible members; rotate Rotarians at Chamber meetings; report out to club what happens at Chamber meetings
Update the club tri-fold to include activities and service projects.
Reach out to non-Rotarians we meet at the Golf Tournament
Get pictures in the paper.

The club will develop a signoff sheet for speakers so that a newsletter can be published in the Record Courier spotlighting the wonderful information shared by the presenters at our Rotary meetings.
Business and Operations
VISION - the club needs to work on purpose (kids at risk) and how it ties into what we are doing throughout the year. Suggest working with the district on a 5-year strategic plan and vision.
The survey applies to a large club - it would be helpful to have one more specific. For example, we volunteer at the food closet. It would be nice to know which members support this and would volunteer.
Projects - we are lacking on service projects. We could go out to the community or simply ask members for ideas.
Signage - there needs to be a new board just for service clubs and Rotary needs to be on it!
Reminder..... there will be a Minden Rotary Board meeting before the 9/28 Regular meeting
