EMERGENCY ROOM (Monica Green)

    Carson Valley Health used to be Carson Valley Medical.  Monica is the Carson Valley Health ER (Emergency Room) Manager.  The ER currently has 7 beds and is expanding to 14.  The expansion is scheduled to be completed August of 2024 with walls going up the first week of August 2023.

    Monica suggests that when you visit the ER, bring a list of the medications you are using and why you are using them.  Also bring your Advanced Directive. 

    CVH ER sees 25-40 patients in an average 24 hour period.  They have Care Flight on site which handles about 100 patients per year. What are the most common reasons for an ER visit?  Monica indicated that lately there have been a lot of ladder falls (with wind contributing to the cause).  They see more dog bites than snake bites (but they do have the snake anti-venom).

    The ER is fully staffed right now.  ER and Urgent care can be used by VA patients as well.  

    Compliments were given from Rotarians who have visited the facility.  They specified that the nurses and doctors at the facility have a great attitude.

MARKETING (Heidi Saucedo)

    Heidi has been the Marketing Manager for Carson Valley Health since May of 2022.  At CVH, she has been in charge of rebranding the 30 year brand.  There were many meetings and outreach to get input from the community. The new logo has a CV and mountains in the logo and “taking care of the community” is the slogan.
