As of October 1, 2023, Galena Rotary Club dues will be $640 per year, or $160 per quarter. If you have already paid for 2023, you will owe $110 for the last quarter. If you have paid up to July, you will owe an additional $330 for FY 23-24.
Inflation has driven the cost of running the club up to $275 per member per year, therefore an increase was immediately warranted just to cover our costs. Read that again: it costs $275 per year per member just to exist as a club. 100% of our charitable programs, including student of the quarter and youth exchange, must come from fundraising efforts.
The DeSoto has been very gracious and cooperative, but our current system of RSVPs and collecting at the door puts a bigger burden on them and their staff. They are scrambling at noon to get an accurate count of the meals that they need, and I'd like to point out have done an excellent job, but we can and should make it easier on them to serve us.
Adding meals back into our dues will help the club AND the DeSoto House. If you don't show up for a meeting, the $15 will go to our charitable causes, expanding the reach of our club. The DeSoto can be given a guaranteed number each week. And we will not need to collect for meals at the door.
