Last week we heard Classification Talks from our esteemed fellow Rotarians, Butch Trevor, and Mark Carlson.
We first heard from Butch. Butch's family has owned and operated Trevor Hardware for 135 years! Butch gave a very informational and personal history of his family's successful adventures in the hardware business! Scene from the Moline Centennial Parade in June of 1948. In 1948, Trevor Hardware operated out of the building that is now The Belgrade! In 1974 they started construction on their current location. The Grand Opening was in 1976. They have been in business there in Moline ever since. Congratulations, Butch!
Mark Carlson We then heard from Mark. Mark gave a very entertaining presentation, highlighting his various jobs over the years. Mark has no problem laughing at himself, and we are often the victims -- I mean recipients -- of his humor! Mark was involved in the early years of the digital revolution! Mark joined our club while a member of the Blaze Restoration team. Clearly, Mark had no fun there. His most recent job takes him to the very successful Valley Construction. Mark is a powerhouse in the community, being fully committed to everything he puts his mind to! Thanks, Mark. We love having you as a member of Moline Rotary. It is never a dull moment when you are around! |
