Last Monday, Cecilia O'Brien, AFL-CIO Community Services Liaison with United Way of the Quad Cities, Jenni Swanson, and Stacy Klingler presented United Way of the Quad Cities' goal to get 3rd Graders reading to learn with a program called ReadUnitedQC.

Even before the Pandemic, student reading proficiency has been declining. 
United Way of the Quad Cities' focus is Education, Health and Income. 
With an emphasis in measuring the results of 3rd Grade learners, United Way is trying to move the needle of reading levels of our local young people. The ReadUnitedQC is looking for 500 volunteers to read with a 3rd Grader 30-minutes a week. You can also help with a financial commitment to help students keep reading over the summer. 
This is a worthwhile program. There are many ways you can help!

In response to the deepening humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, The Rotary Foundation has created an official channel for Rotary members around the world to contribute funds to support the relief efforts underway by Rotary Districts and has designated its Disaster Response Fund as the main avenue for contributions.
