The Ongoing Saga of Douglas County Schools

Feb 06, 2026 12:00 PM

Our local schools have had some major hurdles this year, and our own Todd Poth has been intimately involved. He will share with us the ups and downs, and how a small group of motivated individual can have the power to make a difference.  Remember, not speaking up or participating in the process is not neutral; it is often the deciding factor of the outcome.

We may want to stop at the Casino Bar before this one. Don't miss it!

Polio and Iron Lung Presentation

Mar 17, 2026 6:00 PM

Most of us have never seen an iron lung outside of a museum and that is exactly the point.

On March 17, the Rotary Club of Tahoe Douglas is hosting a special evening presentation on Polio, the Iron Lung, and Rotary’s End Polio Now mission at Bally’s Lake Tahoe.

We are honored to welcome PDG David Gallagher, a nationally recognized Rotarian with decades of international humanitarian service. An actual iron lung will be on display, a sobering reminder of what polio looked like before vaccines and why Rotary’s work is not finished.

Polio has no cure. Prevention through vaccination is the path. The world has made extraordinary progress, but almost is not victory.

This is a presentation everyone should see.
Guests are welcome and encouraged.
