Rotarians of the Year
Janet Blessington, Rotarian of the Year and Becky Leonard, Presidential Citation Award Winner
This year two amazing Rotarians received awards for being outstanding Salida Sunrise Rotary Members.
Janet Blessington received the award of Rotarian of the Year for all of her outstanding work as Chair of the Home & Garden Show. Along with all of her tireless work on this amazing event, she was chair of the Community Service Committee. Throughout the year Rotary members are needed to assist other non-profit organizations with volunteer support and throughout the year Janet made sure that every request by a community organization was filled. There was definitely no break in the year for Janet as she worked a full 12 months on both the successful Home & Garden Show and the Service Committee. As so many members of this club have commented, Janet is one of the most organized and thorough individuals we know! Thank you Janet for making this year a true success in so many ways!
Becky Leonard received the Presidential Citation Award for her amazing work on the Imagination Library Project. Working for up to 40 hours per week on this successful project, Becky played a key roll in making sure that so many children between New Born and Five receive a free book each month through this wonderful Dolly Parton Project. Thank you Becky for all your amazing work to make sure every child in Salida has an opportunity for early reading!
With these awards, both Janet and Becky will be presented as Paul Harris Fellows. This is the Salida Sunrise way of saying thank you for all you do for our club and our community!
