The Event That Wasn’t

The weekend of April 4 & 5 was to be our 8th annual Chaffee Home & Garden Show.  While it would have been a perfect weekend for our annual event because there was NO snow, due to the current COVID 19 threat, this year’s show was cancelled.
It was a hard decision to cancel this great community event as everyone in our area looks forward to it every year. But the decision was made easier due to the County Commissioner’s cancellation of all meetings and events in county facilities due to COVID 19. 
We now have 25 wonderful vendors who have applied their deposits or full payments to the 2021 Chaffee Home & Garden Show.  A few vendors have also donated a portion of their booth payment this year to the Charitable Fund to be used for scholarships and community grants.  A complete list is below, and we’ve included a link to their websites to show our appreciation. 
The anticipated $30,000 in proceeds from this year’s show would have been turned over to the Charitable Fund to be used as Scholarships and Community Grants in 2021.  Now, it appears the amount our Charitable Fund will have available for the Scholarships and Community Grants for 2021 is greatly reduced.  A Fundraising Strategy Committee has been developed to look at other fundraising ideas for this year, and we will let you know once some decisions have been made.
