On Sunday, August 27th from 1:00 - 3:30 pm at Riverside Park, creatively decorated ducks will once again race down the Arkansas River to cheering spectators who have come to help raise money for SSR's scholarship fund and celebrate the Salida community. Several non-profits will be present with information about getting involved to serve the community.

 

As they did last year, the Salida Circus will wow us with their amazing talents.  And the kids will have several fun activities to enjoy.  Last year, they had a fun time participating in their own Mini-Duck race, painting a rock, and playing Duck Toss and Ring Toss games.

 

There will be a chance to view and vote on your favorite of the 20 Platinum sponsored ducks that were uniquely decorated by their sponsors.  And you’ll be able to check out the 40 ducks decorated by the Boys & Girls Clubs in Salida and Buena Vista.  The kids have a blast decorating the ducks!

 

A huge THANK YOU goes to everyone who sponsored a duck and to the many people who helped make this event happen in 2021 and 2022 and who we hope will join us again on August 27, 2023!  We look forward to seeing scholarships given out in the winners’ choice of names this next school year!
