International Project: Water and Sanitation Project for La’angum Primary School in Bumboazio, Northern Ghana

Together the Rotary Club of Wainwright, the Rotary Foundation and PAMBE Ghana we are working to install a system of harvesting water on a roof of a new school building to use for drinking and to construct two environmentally friendly bio-toilets with a system to recycle grey water to flush toilets and a biogas digester to convert waste into useable biogas to cook school lunches, thereby replacing burning wood, which is scarce, laborsome and causes pollution.

Kovach Park Shade Structure, Revelstoke

In 2019, the Revelstoke Rotary Club partnered with Shade Sails Canada to install a shade structure at Kovach Park.

Rotary Skills Park, Revelstoke

In 2018, the Revelstoke Rotary Club partnered with the Revelstoke Cycling Association to build a skills bike park. The purpose of the riding skills park is to provide an easily accessible set of routes for mountain bike riders to practice and improve their riding skills. The park will be a great place for youth and people with adaptive needs to learn mountain bike skills on trails that are built to teach specific skills and build in difficulty and will be located at the base of Mount Macpherson. Mountain biking is an increasingly popular sport in Revelstoke and keeps youth body and mind active.

Partners in the Horn of Africa project in Ethiopia

In 2016 we donated to build the Enguli/Jema bridge in Ethiopia.

The Peanut Butter Project in Ghana

Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) is the inadequate intake of food, leading to critical illness and death, most commonly occurring between he ages of 1 and 3. SAM kills more then 3.5 million children worldwide each year. The solution is as simple as a jar of specially developed peanut butter known as “Ready-to-use Therapeutic Food” (RUTF). The Rotary Club of Revelstoke provided funding in 2015 to the project to feed children in Ghana.

In 2013 the Rotary Club of Revelstoke donated books to the Garhwali English Medium School in Sainji, Uttarakhand, India.

Clean Water Project in Thailand

In 2011 the Rotary Club of Revelstoke provided three clean water systems for consumption in the rural area of Udon Thani province in Thailand. Three schools received clean water systems: Wankoo School, Wangthong School and Goong Chareon School. The clean water system brings clean consumption water to the school members. The students and the people who live around the school are encouraged to bring the water back to consume in their homes.

Water project in Matatalapa, Mexico

In partnership with the Sunrise Rotary Club of Kamloops in 2008 we installed and mapped out a water line to the village. Roofing was also delivered and provided to the buildings most in need in the village.

Medical Care in Thailand

The Rotary Club of Revelstoke provided a neonatal IV pump in Thailand at a refugee camp near the Burmese boarder.

Shelter Boxes, Worldwide

Over the years the Rotary Club of Revelstoke has donated many shelter boxes for disaster relief. Locations have included: Vanuatu, Haiti, Hurricane Katrina locations, and more.

Queen Victoria Hospital, Revelstoke

Over the years the Rotary Club of Revelstoke has donated to the hospital to complete a range of projects from a new electric range back in 1936 to X-Ray equipment in 1954 and most recently towards the new Heli-Pad project that will be completed in 2018.

Williamson's Lake, Revelstoke

The first Rotary Day was held at Williamson's Lake in 1930 and ever since the Rotary Club of Revelstoke has been working to make improvements over the years. In 1934 the development of Williamson's Lake begin with the installation of picnic and camping ground for the community along with suitable bathing facilities, shelters and picnic tables and chairs. The club did not stop there, furthering the development by putting in a block dam, installing a playground, log retaining walls and a wharf. In 1957 bath houses at the lake were built followed by a diving tower and slides. Most recently new docks were installed.
