The Foundation Committee, previously operating as a joint International/Foundation Service Committee, as of July 01, 2016 gained its own Director and specific role.
Specifically, the role of the Foundation Committee is to:
(1) develop and implement a plan to support the Foundation through program participation and financial contributions;
(2) establish annual goals and implement strategies to achieve these goals;
(3) organize and deliver educational programs at the club level to provide all club members with a full understanding of The Rotary Foundation; and
(4) encourage and inspire members of the club to actively support the Foundation.
The aim of the Committee is to advance international understanding, goodwill, and peace through its program of humanitarian service. ‘Service Above Self’ is Rotary International's motto, which means that every member of the Rotary Club of Kelowna Sunrise is responsible for contributing in some way to improve the quality of life for those around the world.
