Recognizing that Shelter Box Canada is dedicated to helping ensure that no family is left without shelter after a natural disaster or conflict anywhere in the world, the Rotary Club of Kelowna Sunrise has again provided financial support to the organization.
This support provides funds that will purchase three Shelter Boxes, at a cost of $3600 CDN in total that will contain the necessities for supporting a family that is in despair and homeless as a result of the catastrophic disaster or conflict.
Each green Shelter Box contains a family-sized tent especially designed to withstand the elements and provide people with temporary shelter until they are able to start the process of rebuilding a home. Additionally, a Shelter Kit is included that helps to transfer the shelter into a home. Cooking utensils, blankets, and essential tools for day to day living and to enable the family to start repairing and rebuilding their homes straight away are available within each Kit.
By providing emergency shelter and tools for families robbed of their homes by disaster, our Rotary club is helping transforming despair into hope.
