The Interior Savings Sunrise Rotary 2019 RibFest was once again a very successful family fun free event for the residents and guests of the Okanagan.  This was in large part due to better weather conditions, increased attendance and increased net profits.

2019 RibFest Chair Chris Murphy, who has been asked and has agreed to accept the role of chair for the 2020 RibFest, tabled a comprehensive report on the 2019 RibFest with the club which clearly detailed the successes and identified recommendations to improve the 2020 RibFest.

At the October 25th meeting of the club, Chris Murphy reviewed the Final Budget which had been included in the Report and which identified a net profit of $51,000 directly from the RibFest festival and an additional net profit of $31,000 from the Raffle for a grant total of $82,000.  Net profits solely from the RibFest increased by 122% over the 2018 event and 168% since the 2017 event.  Proceeds from the 2019 Raffle increased by $2000 from the 2018 Raffle.  As a result, the increased profits will provide even greater financial support to address the needs within the community.

During the meeting, the club agreed to proceed with a 2020 RibFest.  Chris Murphy shared that the dates of August 20-13, 2020 have already been booked with the City of Kelowna.  An alternate weekend prior to the 20th is available for the festival if the necessary arrangements can be made with the ribbers.
