The Rotary Club of Kelowna Sunrise will sponsor ten persons with diversabililties to attend the Annual Conference of Inclusion BC to be held in Kelowna from May 24-26, 2018.  The donation of $1,000 will enable Pathways Abilities of Kelowna to send ten of their members to the conference which will provide the participants  with a premier learning event on intellectual disability, inclusiveness and human rights.
 
Shelly DeCoste, a member of the Inclusion BC Provincial Board and a member of the Rotary Club of Kelowna Sunrise, received the cheque for $1,000 during club’s regular meeting on March 02nd.

Inclusion BC, a provincial federation, provides support, education and advocacy where and when it’s needed, breaking down barriers and building communities that include people of all abilities.  As a federation, it works with partners to build community and to enhance the lives of children and youth with special needs, adults with developmental disabilities, and their families by supporting abilities, promoting actin and advancing rights, responsibilities and social justice.  
 
Specifically, the organization provides individual advocacy and community referral support, advocates at a systems level for government change, publishes resources and host regional workshops and provincial conferences, supports family, self-advocacy and professional networks across the province, and promotes inclusion through public awareness initiatives and campaigns.
