Two recent inductees into the membership of the Rotary Club of Kelowna Sunrise expressed that they had joined Rotary as a means to be a part of an organization that makes such a valuable impact within the community and around the world.

On December 14, Stevi Nagle and Robert Bruce became members of Rotary International and the Rotary Club of Kelowna Sunrise.  Membership chair, Brian Wrightson, carried out the induction and with the members of the club welcomed both of the community minded individuals into the club.  Club members Helmut Hubert, the sponsor of Robert and Robin Durrant, the sponsor of Stevi, also participated in the induction ceremonies.

Robert Bruce commenced his eclectic employment experiences at the young age of 17 when he began working at a mill in the Fraser Valley, followed by managing a men’s clothing chain, and then working in roofing and framing construction, before finally settling into the Restoration field.   His career in restoration began as a flood technician and a project manager of the ServiceMaster Restore in Abbotsford where he was employed for 12 years.  Five and a half years ago, he jumped at the opportunity to become a part owner/manager of the local ServiceMaster Restore in Kelowna which he continues to date.
While Robert is anxious to give back to the community through the Rotary club, he has served on the Church Board of Kelowna Gospel Fellowship, helped feed the homeless through the Salvation Army and experienced a mission’s trip to Thailand.

Robert loves to motorbike, particularly on cruises whenever he can.  He enjoys watching baseball and hockey, as he points out that playing the game is no longer an option.

Stevi Nagle graduated from secondary school in Campbell River and then completed her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Studies at Mount Royal University in Calgary.  Following the completion of her degree, she worked as a Victim Assistance Worker specializing in Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault and then made a career change to the Insurance Industry.  She commenced working as an Insurance Adjuster for Forsons Adjusting Services in Penticton until early 2017; when in May of 2017 she moved into the broker side of the Insurance Industry as a Claims Team Leader with CapriCMW Insurance Services in Kelowna.

While working in Penticton, Stevi volunteered for various community events through her work as a Victim Assistance worker.  After working for a non-profit agency, she realized the valuable impact that Rotary makes, not just in the community, but around the world.  She points out that by observing and learning about Rotary through her father who served as a Rotarian for many years, she recognized that Rotary was indeed the avenue and causes she wished to support.
