In 2015, Rotary Foundation Canada, associated with over 300 Canadian clubs, entered into a five-year grant agreement with Global Affairs Canada on behalf of the Canadian government to support global humanitarian efforts. As part of the agreement, Global Affairs Canada pledged to contribute $ 6 million from 2015-2020 toward the charity’s programs. These grants were to be focused on maternal and child health in under-served communities.

Each year since the agreement, Rotary Foundation Canada has received $1.2 million in government funding to conduct its global projects. By the end of 2019, the charity received $1.2 million in grants which represented 10 % of its revenue and $1.2 million in deferred government funding, thus completing the $6.0 million funding commitment.
