As Rotarians, we have been focused on eradicating polio from the world since 1985, and as you know, the eradication is coming to fruition.  Now, the world is in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic; and Rotarians around the world are working hard to support health care and emergency workers and entire communities to fight the pandemic.
 
Sometimes in the midst of all these terrible health issues, we forget that another dreadful disease affects the health of many people and causes death in many countries.  But with the focus of such organizations as the World Health Organization, remarkable success has been achieved over the last two decades with respect to this disease.  If you have guessed the disease I am referring to, it is indeed Malaria. 
 
This is the beginning of the story of how organizations, including The Rotary Foundation which we fund, have and plan to focus on combating malaria in ten provinces of Zambia throughout 2021 and forward.  You can learn all about it by viewing the video produced by Website administrator and editor Ed Kolybaba included in this front page story.
