“The strength of Rotary to Make a Difference far exceeds that of the individual and the potential for Rotary endeavours is not limited to a single year; it builds on year after year of united effort,” stated out-going 2017-18 President Andy Griffin in his remarks to the club members and their guests during the 2018 Installation Dinner and Program on June 23, 2018.  “What each of you have contributed in this past year continues to build the base for years to come,“  he added.  To illustrate his point about how the club and members made a difference, Andy simply referenced the financing, work and volunteerism provided by the club and its members over the year which provided service to over sixteen groups within the community and five international groups that the club had supported to the tune of over $55,000.

“Ask the clients of Shoe Bank Canada if shoes are helping their families; ask the Foundry if they are helping turn around the lives of young people in our community; or ask the families in Guatemala if getting an education will change their lives”, challenged Andy.  Definitely these organizations are very deserving of the club’s support as they touch the lives of hundreds of people in the community and worldwide.  “TOGETHER, we ARE making a difference, one project, one fundraiser, one Rotarian at a time,” expressed Andy in his concluding remarks.

2017-18 President Andy Griffin’s remarks and his recognition of individual club Rotarians offered the club members and their guests during the Club’s 32nd Annual Installation Dinner and Program, which was presided over by Past-President Pat McAllister, the highlights and accomplishments of the club and its members during the 2017-18 Rotary Year.

Rotarians and guests were welcomed to the evening event by Andy and his wife Louise, before being entertained by two talented musical artists, Griffin Hodge on Jazz saxophone and Jordan Manderioli  on piano, featuring the music of a number of jazz artists prior to the dinner.

Following President Andy’s final departing words, he proceeded to install in-coming 2018-19 President Maribeth Friesen and her executive and directors.
