“Phil joined Okanagan College in 2002 as a professor in the department of Network and Telecommunications Engineering Technologies. He spent eight years in an instructional role before becoming department chair in 2010. Three years later he joined the College’s leadership team as Associate Dean of Science, Technology and Health. He held that position for the last four years before recently taking on the role of Regional Dean for the Central Okanagan. Phil holds a Master of Science in IT Network Infrastructure and Design as well as a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. Prior to joining Okanagan College, Phil spent 8 years working in Information Technology at the University of Northern British Columbia in Prince George and the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg.
Outside of his position at Okanagan College, Phil has been actively involved in the Okanagan Tech community. Concurrent with his teaching responsibilities, he lead technology workshops, represented the college on the Board of Directors on the Okanagan Research and Innovation Centre, and spent three years as a Technical Lead with the Okanagan High-Speed Broadband Initiative. Phil is well known throughout the Okanagan Science and Technology sector, working actively with community partners, Accelerate Okanagan, the City of Kelowna, the Economic Development Commission, and the Applied Science Technologists & Technicians of BC, to help generate learning opportunities for students throughout the Okanagan” |

Kelowna Foundation

Ginny Becker is the Executive Director of the Kelowna Foundation for Hope and Social Innovation. The Foundation’s current priority project is the development and construction of the Child Advocacy Centre. This transformational centre will provide a coordinated, multi-disciplinary response to child abuse and neglect in the communities of Lake Country, Kelowna, West Kelowna and Peachland. She is here today to tell us more about this community resource and how it will impact our community. |

The Kelowna Morningside Rotary Golf Tournament supports Rotary projects in our community. 18 holes of golf (Texas Scramble-all Par 3) with two holes with Hole-In-One prizes at $20,000 each (only one Hole-In-One prize is payable on any hole). 16 holes with $300 cash prize per hole for closest to pin.
