Breakfast – Citrus Australia

Many intrepid Rotarians turned up to Moricom Orchard bright and early on Thursday 20th March to cook breakfast for the 220 attendees at the Citrus Australia conference.  It was quite dark at 6.00 am but most were in good spirits and ready to ‘roll up their sleeves’ and cook a healthy bacon and egg roll for all attending.

Some pictures of the morning:

Brian did a fantastic job in organising the breakfast and we were grateful for the additional help of Jan, Carol and Damian.
It was a very successful morning.  The Salvation Army were grateful for the left-overs that were distributed to some of the needy in town.

The Cowra Sojourn

A group of happy travellers left Leeton on Friday21st March for a weekend excursion to Cowra.

The excursion started with a dinner at the Thai Restaurant where we were joined by members of the Cowra Rotary Club.

Generally what happens on tour stays on tour but …….

An early breakfast on Saturday was enjoyed by some …

Before a visit to the Visitors Centre and the Prisoner of War camp.  There was a street parade as a part of the International Festival.

Most then enjoyed a trip to Rosnay Organic Wines in Canowindra, where we sampled the wines, olives, figs and art.

Jennifer decided to sample the delights at the International Festival that was celebrating Indian culture

We then had a huge dinner at the Imperial Hotel, but few could manage the whole meal.

Sunday began with a beautiful breakfast at the Japanese gardens followed by a guided tour led by a member of the Cowra Club.

The intrepid group then travelled to Iandra Castle at Greenthorpe for a visit to their open day.

It was a great trip. Those of us who attended were very appreciative of the efforts of Carmel and Carol for their organisation, and the Cowra Rotary Club for their welcome.

Sign of the Times

I asked my daughter to give me the phone book.  She laughed at me, called me a dinosaur, and handed me her iPhone.
So……. The spider is dead, the iPhone is broken, and my daughter is pissed.
