On Wednesday recipes4 members of Rotary went to Leeton Toyota to receive a defibrillator to be available on our Food Van at functions such as=s the Farmers Market, Chill n Grill, Ham Carnival etc.
A press release was sent by Sarah Taranto of Leeton Toyota. Every year, 26,000 Aussies experience a cardiac arrest. Only 5% survive. * (*Statistics sourced from National Heart Foundation of Australia 2024.)
Leeton Toyota has just invested in a defibrillator on-site of their (central) 2 Pine Avenue location to ensure that they’re prepared for any emergency.

You can find the defibrillator in the common showroom area. Jason Curry and Brendan Harmer are our qualified first aid certificate holders. In an emergency, you can trust that we have the skills and tools to respond quickly and effectively.

To help increase the chances of survival in the Leeton community, on Wednesday 11th September, Leeton Toyota donated an AED defibrillator to the Rotary Club of Leeton, who are well-immersed in many local events and initiatives. Along with this donation was complimentary first aid training for a member of their committee through St John Ambulance NSW. Laurie Lewin attended this training in Wagga on 12 Sep 2024.
Almost 70 Aussies have a cardiac arrest every day. (*Statistics sourced from National Heart Foundation of Australia 2024.) This is a sharp increase from the 55 daily cases across Australia, in 2023. This is a powerful reminder of the importance of being prepared and having life-saving tools like defibrillators on hand. The alarming rise reminds us how crucial it is to be prepared with life-saving tools like defibrillators.

A Customer, a Clerk and the Store Manager
A store manager overheard a clerk saying to a customer, “No, ma’am, we haven’t had any for some weeks now, and it doesn’t look as if we’ll be getting any soon.”
Alarmed by what was being said, the manager rushed over to the customer who was walking out the door and said…“That isn’t true, ma’am. Of course, we’ll have some soon. In fact, we placed an order for it a couple of weeks ago.”
Then the manager drew the clerk aside and growled, “Never, never, never say we don’t have something. If we don’t have it, say we ordered it and it’s on its way. Now, what was it she wanted?”
The clerk smiled and said, “Rain…”
