The Brain Teaser

You are in a room that has three switches and a closed door. The switches control three light bulbs on the other side of the door. Once you open the door, you may never touch the switches again. How can you definitively tell which switch is connected to each of the light bulbs?

Director’s Roundup

  • Alan
    • A special thank you to Erin for the dinner last Thursday.  The thank you was supported by the rest of the attendees.
  • Secretary Brian
    • We need to remove the Rotary History Cupboard from the Library.  It was resolved to move it to Brobenah Rd.  Meet at the Library at 9.30 am on Wednesday 31st January.
  • Bruer
    • Maggie Chant (outgoing exchange student) has returned from Denmark.  She hopes to be at the Australia Day breakfast and will talk to the club when it can be arranged.
  • Len
    • Past Exchange Student Ellie has sent a picture of an ultrasound. Baby expected in June.
    • Past exchange Student Luca is now a Computer Engineer working with a Pharmaceutical Company to develop the use of AI to assess trial data.

  • A:  Turn on the first two switches. Leave them on for five minutes. Once five minutes has passed, turn off the second switch, leaving one switch on. Now go through the door. The light that is still on is connected to the first switch. Whichever of the other two is warm to the touch is connected to the second switch. The bulb that is cold is connected to the switch that was never turned on.

Sergeants Session – Andrew Raadvever

The Serge was his usual thorough self and made sure most were covered with fines. He specifically highlighted the plane trip where Captain Draper
flew Draper and Draper to Cairns.

His quiz was what other thing occurred on 26 January (1948): - The Nationality and Citizenship Act 1948.  It was the first time that the term Australian Citizen was used in any Australian legislation.  He also highlighted the Granville Train Disaster on 18 January, 1977. Willow Park to Leeton via Koonadan., Wilkinson and Sanderson Roads.

We all celebrated that Eric was able to use his 4WD after a ‘slight detour from Willow Park to Leeton via Koonadan., Wilkinson and Sanderson Roads.

For Australia Day

I travelled to Australia the other week and I was passing through immigration, they said to me "Do you have a criminal record?"
I replied, "I didn't realise that it was still a requirement to get in here".

Not Really Appropriate – but anyway!

Jimbo  is on the bus when he suddenly realized ...he needed to fart.

The music was really loud, so he started timing his farts with the beat.
After a couple of songs, he started to feel better as he approached his stop.

As he was leaving the bus, people were really staring at him, and that's when he remembered

........  he'd  been listening to his ipod.
