Chef Matt - How it all began!

We all know Matt Gatt as a great chef, but how many of us know how it all began.  At our latest meeting and first physical one in over a month, Matt not only feed us Irish stew and dessert but provided us with his extremely interesting journey story from the Sydney school boy with no known direction ‘to the co-owner of ‘The Hungry Fox’ in Leeton.

The women who inspired him and  where it all began.

Where he has worked and who he has meet through his journey.

The Hungry Fox is born and then develops.

Food, glorious food

The Hungry Fox today with the help of family.

Thank you Matt!

   Director’s Roundup
  • Farmers Markets didn’t happen in September and has also been cancelled for October.  As for November, that is anyone’s guess at this stage.
  • Board Meeting –  held via zoom on Tuesday with the Board discussing possible projects, two currently under consideration, painting of the showground gates and the planting of trees between the ovals.
  • Fine Session – with no dedicated sergeant, a ‘free for all’ with some good fines and counter fines.
  • Visit last week from District Governor, Leo Farrelly, who provided the Club with his background, information about our Club and inspiration for the future.  Anyone who would like a copy of his presentation, please contact Carmel.

Rotarian’s Pick the Menu

This week we were finally able to partake in some of Matt’s cooking being the Irish stew chosen by Kerry, pre ‘stay at home’ orders.

Next week we will be treated to some traditional lamb roast compliments of Len.

We may have missed Matt’s delicious cuisine but we were not the only ones.  Let me tell you the chickens are not happy they have been missing out on their weekly treat (including this week) and we know what happens when the chickens are not happy!

    Let’s Play ‘Which Rotarian?”

  • As another member was a no show, thought they would score their meal to take home, but was promptly told it was Gabby's favourite, so she would be taking it home?
  • After months of arguing about their NBN service finally had a small win with Telstra?
  • Is eligible for their full licence on Saturday?
  • Has engaged the services of a new member to attend meetings including Board meetings being held via zoom?
  • Was proudly showing off their 'fully vaxed' certificate downloaded from MyGov?
