Leeton Local Health Advisory Committee.

Maryann Ianelli introduced us to the Leeton Health Advisory Committee.  She then introduced Amy Thorn, the Leeton Hospital Facility Manager, and they led a question-and-answer session on the new body.  It was a vigorous session as we tried to understand the concept of the Committee and its function. They provided a presentation as background to the Q & A session.

Maryann and Amy were very passionate about their role in the community and requested that we all consider and recommend suitable recruits for this important new initiative.

They were presented with a  Dan Cotter mug by President Jennifer as a thankyou from the club.

Sergeant Peter

Peter was very diligent in ensuring we were not left unscathed on the night. A pity Andrew was away on the night because Peter had a toothy problem to sort out with him.

The raffle went out of town to guest Peter.

Thanks to Len for the Cricket story.

Lest it gets lost in translation it goes something like this:

Cricket – as explained to a foreign visitor.

There are two sides.

One out in the field and one in.

Each player that’s in goes out

And when he’s out he comes in and the next player goes in until he’s out.

When they are all out, the side that’s out comes in and the side that’s been in goes out and tries to get those coming in out.

Sometimes you get players still in and not out.

When both sides have been in and out including the ones not out

That’s the end of the game

A: Frank – each son’s name starts with the same initial as the days of the week in order.
