Reports:

Laurie is asking for helpers to cook for a Lunch at SunRice on Wednesday May 6. Serving food will need to be quick. They supply the ingredients; we cook and serve.

Greg purchased a device from Aldi that allows us to use two microphones at once, provided all switches are switched on.

There’s no end to Greg’s search for useful technology. Can he find a device for hearing aids to be linked to microphones through Bluetooth??

Sargeant – George came well prepared, managed to fine each individual attendee. And had fines left over for those who were absent.  Very impressive, George.

Focus – Greg’s short tour of our Rotary website

Greg guided us through parts of the Rotary Website. We could follow the tour on the big screen.

He started with the International Rotary Calendar, noting that this day was International Wellness Day.

He then took us to the ESRAG site. (Environmental Sustainability Rotary Action Group) This group is acting on Climate Change, Pollution and Diversity Loss. Short video clips showed the wide range of activities led by Rotarians in various countries.

Thanks, Greg, for showing us the Rotary Website, a very useful site for research. Rotary really is a big deal on the world scene.

Rotary Project

A perfect rest spot for Wattle Hill families walking to the shops. Seat to be secured on the concrete soon. Well done, Geoff, for the planning, Dan, for the sign, and Chester for the concreting know how.

Story

A man walked into a bar and ordered a beer. As he sipped his beer a quiet voice says, “Nice Tie!”. He looked around and found the room was empty except for the bartender at the other end of the bar. He sipped again and the quiet voice said, “Love your shirt!”. Surprised, the drinker called the bartender over. “I think I’m going mad. I keep hearing voices saying nice things, and there’s nobody else here.”

“It’s the peanuts.” says the bartender. “They’re complimentery”.

An aside

Partners Brian and Dan are doing very well at Bridge, Brian as a learner and Dan as the teacher.
