Nutrition Part 2
Kelsey Tobin’s topic was 'Creating better Nutrition habits".  It was an extension of her presentation to the Club last year, learning more about the practical application of what we should be eating.

As a triathlete herself, Kelsey is well attuned to the relationship between nutrition and sports performance and Kelsey is passionate about sharing her knowledge and skills to help others improve their sports performance and overall wellbeing.  Since completing her Bachelor of Nutrition & Dietetics at the University of Newcastle, Kelsey has worked as a dietitian conducting online nutrition consults, delivered corporate employee wellness programs, and provided nutrition support to the Australian Rugby 7’s team.

Kelsey believes in finding balance between eating for performance and simply for enjoyment. Whether you want to improve your health or on-field performance, Kelsey will work with you to teach you what foods you need to fuel your body and reach your goals.

Kelsey conducts online consultations or face-to-face consultations at our Leeton office with her special interests of performance nutrition, sports nutrition and Women’s health.

Barriers to forming good nutrition habits:
  • Lack of time with training, school and work commitments
  • Large amounts of travel
  • Poor food and nutrition knowledge
  • Poor cooking skills
  • Social influences
  • Poor nutrition mind-set eg. Nutrition doesn’t matter at any age.

Having the ability to resist food cravings, firstly work out why you are getting food cravings, then:
  • Eat a balanced diet with lots of whole foods
  • Improve your sleep habits
  • Reduce emotional eating.
