The Rotary calendar each year sets aside November as Foundation Month. This time each year we look to see how we can support the international programs of The Rotary Foundation, and how we can also benefit from these programs.
Polio Eradication continues to be a major and special focus for all Rotarians, with our achievements across the globe in partnership with governments and other health organisations being used to also assist with Covid-19 pandemic treatments in many nations.
Clubs as well as individual Rotarians donate to our charity throughout the year, but November is always a timely reminder to not forget the importance of supporting our own charity. Tax deductible donations can be made through The Australian Rotary Foundation Trust, while also building credit towards Paul Harris Fellow recognition points. Money boxes are available to collect your loose change, and these can be handed in to our Club Treasurer for banking and then used again.
Any member who would like to be a regular donor can do so through the Centurion program for which there are membership forms available. For the cost of a packet of biscuits per week, or for less than the cost of a drink at one of our Rotary meetings, all members should consider why they should become a donor to the Rotary Foundation.
Hi Jane
I wondered if your Rotarians might be interested in this special screening of the documentary Homeland Story during NAIDOC Week (Sun-Fri 8-13 November) . If so please distribute. I've attached a Flyer for your bulletin that might also be helpful, and includes booking details and screening times. This film is part of the End Trachoma awareness program about First Nations People in the NT community of Donydji.
I do hope you can join us and feel free to share the attached invitation far and wide with your family, friends, fellow Rotarians and your community. This is a film that every Australian should have the opportunity to experience.
Regards and thanks for your support
