Guest Speaker
Our Guest Speaker for tonight will be Ian Rogan, who is coming to our next meeting to talk about his role as Chairmen of the Board of Central Tablelands Local Land Services. Ian is also the proprietor of the Millthorpe Garden Nursery on Eves Lane, Millthorpe.

"Local Land Services(LLS) was formed by the NSW Govt in 2013 with the amalgamation of the following three organisations:
- Catchment Management Authorities
-Livestock Health and Pest Authorities
-the Advisory/Extension services of the Dept of Agriculture
There are 11 LLS regions across NSW and the Central Tablelands LLS Region covers the 8 local government areas of Lithgow, Oberon, Blayney, Cabonne, Orange, Bathurst, Cowra and Mid Western. Each LLS region is governed by a board, partly elected by rural ratepayers in the region and partly appointed by the Minister for Agriculture. I have been a member of the board since the start of LLS and took over from former parliamentarian Ian Armstrong as chair of the board in 2016. We have 60 staff in LLS across the central tablelands region, based in offices at Cowra, Molong, Orange, Bathurst, Lithgow and Mudgee, and who provide services ranging from animal health and diseases control, pest animals and weeds control, pasture improvement, livestock productivity, drought support, conserving threatened species, native vegetation management, bushfire recovery and other emergency services.
Our annual region budget of $12-$13m is sourced from rural ratepayers (approx. 14,000 across our region), the state and federal governments, competitive grants funding and fees for some services."
